NIDHAL CHATTA acted during 10 years as a filmmaking professor at the Higher School of Audiovisual and Cinema, University of Carthage. He currently conducts screenwriting and directing workshops both in Tunis and Paris.
He also helps his students master powerful acting techniques and develop their skills in order to perform professionally on stage or on screen. He notably works on the Stanislavski Method and the Meisner Technique which have trained generations of actors across the world. NIDHAL offers intense acting courses based on his own extensive experience as a director, a producer and a corporate mentor. He strongly feels that everybody in his classes should find their own way to perform, thrive and achieve success. Students become proficient in the craft of acting in record time and advance in their career.
His remarkable experience and outstanding ability for directing actors and on camera talents as well as his collaborations as Line Producer with the BBC, Universal Music, Seven Arts Pictures and the United Nations Environmental Programme make him one of the most sought-after professionals of the MENA area.
The practice of Zen and Budo deep breathing exercises, which reduce anxiety, heart rate and enhance concentration and self-confidence are central to his teaching.
Inspired by a real life gender and equality event, the goal of this course was to develop a short film script to professional standards..
In association with Nidhal CHATTA , CAWTAR was very keen to follow through the process, up to and including the production of the selected screenplay projects.
6 short scripts, 6 young directors, were shortlisted to participate in the second phase of this Master Class in November 2018. They also participated in a special Master Class in January 2019, dealing with film directing and organic acting. The goal being the funding and production of the 6 short films in the 1st half of 2019.
From September 2018 to March 2019, Nidhal worked on this special project under the auspices of CAWTAR and SouthMed WIA. The grand finale, was the award ceremony for the best short film script and the best training guide, organised at the El Makhzen Cultural Centre, Tunisia, showcasing the six months of intensive work with a great team and great candidates.
