NIDHAL CHATTA was born in Tunis and grew up in different countries jumping aboard planes from an early age. His father was a diplomat and his mother a teacher. Wild life and photography were his things.
He holds a Bachelor of Sciences in Animal and Plant Ecology from Loughbourough University of Technology (United Kingdom). His educational background also includes a Master of Sciences in Marine Biology and Oceanography.
His encounter with cinema happened in Tunisia when he was a passionate explorer who dived under the sea, climbed mountains and visited far away countries. To be on a movie set was like a revelation, an awakening and an enlightenment. Film appeared to him as a collection of all art forms and skills, adressing almost all human senses.
Nidhal then raised money from his family to help finance his first underwater short « Lost Horizon » and directed a few years later his first full-length feature « No Man’s Love ». In the mean time, he attended John Strasberg’s Real Stage classes in Paris while commiting himself to directing actors and models in both films and commercials.
